Inactivated vaccine has been developed for use in chickens and breeder hens to give broad protection against Newcastle Disease. When injected, the vaccine produces a high level of circulating antibody (humoral immunity), which is maintained throughout the production cycle. It provides high levels of parental immunity in the progeny. This is the only way to provide protection to the chick during the critical first few days of life. Early infection with Newcastle Disease causes high mortality.
